Well that was worth a watch. Spoilers inside.
In a wet race where a rookie driver challenged the 2012 champion for the lead for almost the entire thing, we have seen a privateer beat the factory Hondas - driven by the previous two champions - and the most successful driver in the series' history, Jason Plato, to the title. By finishing 9th, getting a point for fastest lap and holding station behind a trio of battling cars, Andrew Jordan (pictured) is the 2013 British Touring Car Champion in his sixth season, also taking the championship for independent teams/drivers.
Pirtek Racing (run by his dad) has had its financial struggles before, and they lost a team member this year, so it's a massive release for them. The runners up all went over to show their appreciation after the race when he was hugging just about everyone. Seeing as they've been in his boots before, they know how he's feeling.
